A few hundred hideous demon's later it's the start of a new school year and Oz, being in the year above has left school.

Willow: Hi! You came to visit me. You came with books? Are they books for me?
Oz: Well actually they're kinda for me.
Willow: I don't get it.
Oz: Well it's sort of a funny story. You remember when I didn't graduate?
Willow: Well I know you had a lot of incompletes but that's what summer school is for.
Oz: Yeah, well, you remember when I didn't go?
Willow: But you never said anything. How am I supposed to react to this rather alarming news?
Oz: Well actually I was pretty much banking on you finding it cute.
Willow: Traditionally, you know, repeating a grade isn't exactly a turn on. Hey and you're practically a genius, you're Mr test scores. It's all a little weird.
Oz: So the cute thing is out.
Willow: I'm trying to get to cute, really, but I'm still sort of stuck on strange.
Oz: Well I'd be willing to bargain down to eccentric with an option on cool.

So Oz and Willow will go through school together.
Homecoming moves swiftly in and Willow and Xander, both of which are in a relationship, finally let the love they have for each other come to the surface. They manage to keep in quiet until Spike kidnaps them both. Alone and scared they go to each other for comfort just as Cordelia and Oz sniff them out (a side affect of being a werewolf). Everyone is distraught. Oz tells Willow to leave him alone so he can think.
Eventually he talks to her again.

Oz: OK, the thing is, seeing you with Xander, it was . . . well I've never felt that way before, well not without a full moon, but, I know you guys have a history.
Willow: But it's a history that's in the past, well I guess most histories are in the past, but it's over.
Oz: Well I don't know, I don't know that it ever will be, between you two.
Willow: Oz, please believe me.
Oz: This is what I do know, I miss you, like every second, almost like I lost an arm, or worse, a torso, so I think I'd be willing to, give it a shot.
Willow: Really?
Oz: Yeah.
Willow: Do you want us to, to hug now?
Oz: Yeah, I'm up for that.

Finally together again, they get through the school year, go to the prom together and graduation is near. Unfortunately the Mayor is threatening to eat the whole class on graduation. Willow tries to help.

Willow: This is so frustrating.
Oz: Nothing useful?
Willow: No it's great if you want to make fern invisible or talk to shrimp I've got the goods right here.
Oz: Our lives are different to other peoples.
Willow: Who am I kidding. I'm not going to find a spell to stop the ascension. I'm no witch. I can't even change poor Amy back into a person.
Oz: But you've got the swinging habit trail going, I think Amy's in a good place emotionally.
Willow: Oz!
Oz: What?
Willow: Could you at least pretend to care about what's happening, please?
Oz: You think I don't care?
Willow: I think we could be dead in two days time and you're being ironic detachment guy.
Oz: Would it help you if I panic?
Willow: Yes! It would be swell. Panic is a thing people can share in times of crisis and everything's really scary now you know and I don't know what's going to happen and there's all sorts of things that you are supposed to get to do after highschool and I was really looking forward to doing them and now we're probably just gonna die and I would like to feel that maybe you would...
Oz kisses Willow.
Willow: What are you doing?
Oz: Panicking.

After a night of Oz's version of panicking, which is sex for all those you don't know.

Willow: I feel different, you know, no I guess that makes sense, do you feel different? Oh no, you've already, probably, no big change for you, it was nice, was it nice? Should this be a quiet moment?
Oz: I know exactly what you mean.
Willow: Which part?
Oz: Everything feels different.

They defeat the Mayor, graduate and leave the now ruins of Sunnydale High for a new life at Sunnydale UC. Yet it is does not turn out to be the happily ever after we'd want.
