Willow was an ordinary girl until she met Buffy, then her life changed completely. She was now deeply involved in the world of darkness and demons. Oz was the lead guitar of Dingoes Ate My Baby. Devon, the lead singer, pointed out to Oz that he could have any girl he wanted.

Devon: What does a girl have to do to impress you?
Oz: Well it involves a feather boa and the theme of a Summer Place. I can't discuss it.
Devon: Your too picky. Do you realise how many girls you could have? You're lead guitar, it's currency.

That was just before the Cultural Dance where the Dingoes were playing. Willow went dressed as a cute Eskimo.

Oz: Hey, that girl, who is she?
Devon: She's an exchange student, I think she's from South America.
Oz: No, not her, the Eskimo!

On Halloween, after a long evening of being out of her body she crosses a road where Oz in his currently zebra striped van has stopped to let her pass.

Oz: Who is that girl?

They finally meet face to face when they are picked for the same job in Career Week.

Oz: Canapé?

At the end of career week Oz saves Willow's life by getting shot in the arm.

Willow: He's shot. Are you ok?
Oz: Er, yeah, I'm shot, you know. Wow! It's odd, and painful.

He shows he has interest in her when half through a conversation about animal crackers he says:

Oz: You have the sweetest smile I've ever seen.
~~~~~~~~
Oz finally asks Willow out on a date.

Oz: I'm gonna ask you to go on a date with me tomorrow night and I'm kinda nervous about it actually, it's interesting.
Willow: Oh, well, if it helps at all, I'm gonna say yes.
Oz: Yeah it helps, it creates a comfort zone. Do you want to go out with me tomorrow night?
Willow: Oh I can't!
Oz: Ok, I like that you're unpredictable.
Willow: It's just it's Buffy's birthday and we're throwing her a surprise party.
Oz: It's ok.
Willow: But you could come if you wanted?
Oz: I don't wanna crash.
Willow: No it's fine, you could be my, date.
Oz: Alright I'm in.

At the Party Buffy comes across some unscheduled slayage.

Willow: Are you ok?
Oz: Yeah, hey did everybody see that guy just turn to dust?
Willow: Er, well sort of.
Xander: Yep, vampires are real, a lot of them in Sunnydale, Willow'll fill you in.
Willow: I know it's hard to accept at first.
Oz: Actually it explains a lot.

Oz is recruited into the Scooby Gang, his van being the only thing that will carry the rocket launcher Xander is stealing for Buffy to defeat the Judge with.

Willow: Do you wanna make out with me?
Oz: What?
Willow: Forget it, I'm sorry. Well do you?
Oz: Sometimes when I'm sitting in class, you know not thinking about class coz that would never happen, I think about kissing you, and it's like everything stops, it's like, like freeze frame, willowkissage. I'm not gonna kiss you.
Willow: What? But, freeze frame.
Oz: Well to the casual observer it would appear that you're trying to make your friend Xander jealous, or even the score or something. And that's on the empty side. See in my fantasy when I'm kissing you, you're kissing me. It's ok, I can wait.

A few dates later, he still hasn't kissed her.

Willow: Nowhere! I mean he said he was going to wait until I was ready, but I'm ready, I'm good to go here.
Buffy: I think it' nice he's not just being an animal.
Willow: It is nice, he's great, we have a lot of fun, but I want smoochies!
Buffy: Have you dropped any hints?
Willow: I've dropped anvils.
Buffy: Oh he'll come around, what guy could resist your wily Willow charms?
Willow: At last count all of them, maybe more.
Buffy: Well none of them know a thing, they all get an F in Willow.
Willow: But I want Oz to get an A and, oh, one of those gold stars.

She decides she has to make the first move and goes round his house.
~~~~~~~~
Oz: Willow, what are you doing here?
Willow: I had this whole thing worked out and I had it written down but then it didn't make any sense when I read it back.
Oz: Willow this is not a very good time.
Willow: I mean what am I supposed to think, first you buy me popcorn and then you're all glad I didn't get bit and you put the tag back in my shirt but I guess none of that means anything, coz instead of looking up things with me, here you are, all alone, in your house, doing nothing, by yourself!
Oz: Willow we'll talk about this tomorrow, I promise.
Willow: No, damn it, we'll talk about this now. Buffy told me that sometimes what a girl makes has to be the first move, and now that I'm saying this, I'm starting to think the written version sounded pretty good, but you know what I mean.
Oz: I know, I know, it's me, I'm going through some changes.
Willow: Well welcome to the world, things happen, don't you think I'm going through a lot?
Oz: Not like me.
Willow: Oh, what, now you're special, you're special boy ... with chains and stuff. Why do you have chains and stuff?

Oz's baby cousin Jordy who bit Oz's finger, turned out to be a werewolf, thus making Oz one.
~~~~~~~~
Oz: I spoke to Giles, he said I'll be ok, I just have to lock myself up around the full moon, only he used more words than that, and a globe.
Willow: I'm sorry about how all this ended up, with me shooting you and all.
Oz: It's ok, I'm sorry I almost ate you.
Willow: It's ok. I kinda thought you would have told me.
Oz: I didn't know what to say, it's not everyday you find out you're a werewolf, that's fairly freaksome. May take a couple of days getting used to.
Willow: Yeah, it's a complication.
Oz: So, maybe it's best if I, sorta...
Willow: What?
Oz: Well you know, stayed out of your way for a while.
Willow: I don't know, I'm kinda ok with you being in my way.
Oz: You mean, you'd still?
Willow: Well I like you, you're nice, and you're funny, and you don't smoke, and yeah, ok, you're a werewolf, but that's not all the time. I mean three days out of the month I'm not much fun to be around either.
Oz: You are quite the human.
Willow: So I'd still, if you'd still?
Oz: I'd still, I'd very still.
Willow: Ok, no biting though.
Oz: Agreed.
Willow leaves, comes back and kisses Oz, then leaves again.
Oz: A werewolf in love.
